John Stevenson is a British animator, film director, and puppeteer. He has over 40 years of experience in the entertainment industry. Born in 1958 in London, England, Stevenson began his career working on Jim Henson’s “The Muppet Show.” His talent and creativity propelled him forward in animation and storytelling.
He was a story artist on “The Great Muppet Caper,” “The Dark Crystal,” and “Labyrinth.” Those are his career highlights. He also worked on the hit animated shows “The Dreamstone” and “Back to the Future: The Animated Series.”
In 1998, Stevenson joined DreamWorks Animation as head of story. He worked on successful projects, including “Shrek” and “Madagascar.” His directorial debut was the acclaimed “Kung Fu Panda” (2008).
